Ingredients
  

Tapioca Pearls
  • 1 cup tapioca pearls black or white
  • 4 cups water for boiling
Sweetener
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar or honey
  • 1 cup water for syrup
Tea Base
  • 4 cups water for brewing
  • 4 bags black tea or green tea
Milk
  • 1 cup milk or non-dairy alternative

Method
 

Prepare Tapioca Pearls
  1. Boil 4 cups of water in a pot.
  2. Add 1 cup of tapioca pearls to the boiling water.
  3. Cook for about 20 minutes or until the pearls are translucent and chewy.
  4. Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes.
  5. Strain the pearls and rinse with cold water.
Make Sweetener
  1. In a small pot, combine 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of brown sugar.
  2. Heat until the sugar is dissolved, then let cool.
Brew Tea
  1. In another pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Add 4 tea bags and steep for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove tea bags and let cool.
Assemble Boba Tea
  1. In a serving glass, add a portion of tapioca pearls.
  2. Pour in the brewed tea and add milk to taste.
  3. Sweeten with the prepared syrup as desired.
  4. Stir well and enjoy with a wide straw.
