Ingredients
  

Doughnut Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk warm
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For Frying
  • 4 cups vegetable oil for frying
For Topping
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for a few minutes until smooth.
  5. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness and cut out doughnuts using a cutter.
Fry the Doughnuts
  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Fry the doughnuts in batches for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Remove from oil and place on a cooling rack to drain excess oil.
Prepare the Topping
  1. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Dip the warm doughnuts into the glaze and let them set on the cooling rack.
