- Cook the bacon in a large skillet until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the drippings in the skillet.
- Add the chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet and mix well with the onion and garlic.
- Pour in the chicken broth or water, and add black pepper. Cover the skillet to steam the cabbage for about 5 minutes.
- Remove the lid and continue to cook until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized, about 10 more minutes.
- Stir in the apple cider vinegar and crumble the cooked bacon over the top before serving.
