Method
Prepare the Ribs
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor and tenderness.
- In a small bowl, mix together all the dry rub ingredients.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs, covering both sides evenly.
Bake the Ribs
- Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, bone side down.
- Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of aluminum foil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until tender.
Add Barbecue Sauce
- Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil.
- Brush the barbecue sauce generously over the ribs.
- Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and bake uncovered for an additional 15-30 minutes, until the sauce is caramelized.
Serve
- Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.
