Ingredients
  

Cake
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Peanut Butter Frosting
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
Caramel Sauce
  • 1 cup caramel sauce store-bought or homemade
Toppings
  • 4 bars Snickers bars chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped peanuts optional

Method
 

Prepare the Cake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  4. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool.
Make the Frosting
  1. In a bowl, beat together peanut butter and softened butter until creamy.
  2. Gradually add powdered sugar and heavy cream, mixing until smooth and fluffy.
Assemble the Cake
  1. Once the cakes are cool, place one layer on a serving plate.
  2. Spread a layer of peanut butter frosting on top, then drizzle with caramel sauce.
  3. Place the second cake layer on top and frost the top and sides with remaining peanut butter frosting.
  4. Top with chopped Snickers bars and chopped peanuts, if using.
