Ingredients
  

Cake Mixture
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) cake mix (chocolate or vanilla)
  • 1/2 cup frosting (cream cheese or buttercream)
Coating
  • 2 cups candy melts (any color)
  • 10 pieces lollipop sticks
  • optional toppings: sprinkles

Method
 

Baking and Crumbling
  1. Bake the cake according to package instructions at 350°F (175°C) until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean (about 25-30 minutes). Let it cool completely.
  2. Crumble the cooled cake into fine pieces in a large bowl.
  3. Mix in 1/2 cup of frosting until well combined; the mixture should hold its shape when rolled.
  4. Roll into 1-inch balls and refrigerate for at least an hour.
Coating and Finishing
  1. Melt the candy melts as per package instructions. Dip one end of each lollipop stick into the melted candy, then insert it halfway into each cake ball.
  2. Fully dip each ball into the melted candy melts, tapping off excess coating, and add sprinkles if desired before they harden.
